After yesterday’s little tease, the internet was abuzz with renewed interest in the Seiken Densetsu series. A series long overdue for some serious exposure and love. The Nintendo Switch is stepping in to provide the limelight for the series. As Square Enix has announced that we’ll be getting a Seiken Densetsu collection for the Nintendo Switch.
The game is going to release on June 1st in Japan and will come with Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3. It’ll also have a few new features, such as save states and different screen ratio options. As well as a music mode, letting players rock out to the soundtracks of the Seiken Densetsu series from the Nintendo Switch home screen.
Unfortunately, we still have no news on if we’ll see an international release. Given the untranslated nature of the third game, it’s unlikely we’ll see it localised. But not impossible.
Localising Japanese titles has become common place, where companies such as PQube or XSEED have taken to bringing some of the most niche titles to gamers worldwide. With Nintendo broadening its stance on working with other companies, we might just see some light at the end of the tunnel.
Will you be importing this collection? Are you happy to see the classic JRPG series get the love it deserves?
