Overview
Gracious Films bring to you, "From Bedrooms to Billions: The Amiga Years" ! This video game history documentary is a 150 minute long feature exploring the impact of the Commodore Amiga Computer and how it took video game development, music and publishing to an entirely new level. This video games documentary will also look into how the Commodore Amiga computer played a key and defining role in the rapidly evolving video games industury!
Producer & Co-Director Anthony Caulfield said; “The Commodore Amiga reset the previous boundaries, the very exploration of what was possible in itself led to an incredibly important and pioneering era for the games industry where skilled developers from across the world were able to strive for new innovations, set free by this incredible technology. When making this movie we discovered the blood, sweat and tears but also the sheer passion and love involved in creating the Amiga, as well as learning the machine’s true heritage, as the people behind it had already contributed hugely to the industry at that point! Once the Amiga was released in 1985 we were also fascinated in exactly what the developers and other users from around the world who experienced it truly thought when they got to grips with it, how did it change their development, what opportunities did the computer give them and what effects did that have and perhaps continue to have on the industry today?”
Fellow Producer & Co-Director Nicola Caulfield said “In our previous film From Bedrooms to Billions, for running time reasons we could not explore the Amiga era as deeply as we wanted to, and always felt that it would work as a standalone feature documentary. Therefore, we have filmed a whole new set of interviews to create a standalone, immersive and highly nostalgic film that really explores why the release of the Commodore Amiga and the era that soon followed was a key period in the evolution of video games.”
