American Football has had some pretty excellent coverage as of late.
With the recent Superbowl craze that took over the United States that saw the usual slew of trailers released for the big event, and Lady Gaga’s ever so discussed performance. The rest of the world is starting to take notice. That’s not to say it’s a dead sport outside of the US of course.
The NFL recently made it’s first European draft last year when they took on Moritz Boehringer from Germany. The first European player to be selected in the NFL draft without played in college.
Another worldwide appreciated instance of American Football is the classic Mutant Football League Remake. The classic Megadrive title that saw the aesthetic replace the drab human element and instead favour the likes of Skeletons or even Robots, letting them throw the old Pigskin around.
Well, it’s time to rejoice American Football fans. Mutant Football League is coming back! We’re getting a Mutant Football League Remake!
As you can see from the above video, the game is quite far along and clearly has that classic Mutant Football League wit about it. Chainsaws, wicked humour and more bundled together in this Mutant League Football Remake! Thankfully for us, the game is only going to get better as it met it’s crowdfunding goal only a few days the launch of the project.

It’s always fun to see tongue and cheek sports games. Fifa, WWE 2K games and the like are welcome. But to see more games like Mutant Football League start to make a comeback, we’ll hopefully see a focus on less realism, and more experimentation and fun when it comes to the world of sports!
