Bitmap Books Announce New Amiga Book Kickstarter

[Edit: as of now 16.17 on 13th Oct, Sam is £l,600 away from his £25,000 target! It’s not even been live 24 hours yet!!!]

Following the huge success of “Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium”, Bitmap Books have launched a second Kickstarter campaign to fund “Commodore Amiga: A Visual Commpendium”, and Europe’s Number One Retro Gaming Destination, Funstock.co.uk, will be handling exclusive distribution if the project meets its funding goal.

As with the acclaimed C64 Commpendium, the book celebrates the visual side of the Commodore Amiga computer and games. The book is packed with full-colour, high-resolution pixel art and maps from an array of Amiga games, inspired by designer Sam Dyer’s lifelong passion for the system. Images are accompanied by reviews, trivia and developer insights – making the book a must-have for Amiga fans.

Contributors

Industry legends such as Ron Gilbert, Dino Dini, John Twiddy, Stoo Cambridge, Simon Woodroffe, David Broadhurst and many others have contributed to the book, whilst veteran games journalist Steve Jarratt edited the text and profiled five of the top software producers for a special feature.

Foreword

The book features a foreword by legendary Sensible Software Graphic Artist, Stoo Cambridge. Stoo produced the art for Amiga classics such as Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, and Mega Lo Mania.

Where to get it

The book, titled “Commodore Amiga: A Visual Commpendium” by Bitmap Books, is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. There are some great pledge rewards available – including one for anyone who would also like to receive the Commodore 64 book. There are also prints and posters signed by the developers and artists, and even a physical copy of Putty Squad on the Amiga.
