DIE MONSTER. YOU DON’T BELONG IN THIS WORLD.
Castlevania has seen something of a resurgence as of late, such as the recent Netflix show getting quite a good reception based on its brief trailer. While a Netflix show is a step in the right direction for fans of hunting Dracula, a new game made the way we Retro Gamers know and love it would be the best offering Konami could give us.
However, it would seem this is not in their immediate market strategy, instead content to use the Castlevania licence for Pachinko machines or giving over Contra film rights to China. It’s a bit baffling really, as the time is great to cash in on the nostalgia and love we hold for the series. One contributing factor behind the lack of a proper Castlevania game could be the departure of series figurehead, Iga.
Iga is responsible for Symphony of the Night and left Konami a while back to make a new game, the Castlevania game that we’ve been waiting for. Don’t know what Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is or who Iga is? You can read about both the game and his history with Konami here.
Long story short, it’s amazing. Pure Castlevania fan service from the father of Castlevania himself. While some might see shades of Mighty No. 9 in the works, the project has been given special attention and love to ensure an unrushed launch, which is what we all want.
Don’t believe me? Check out the recent E3 Trailer for Bloodstained down below, it looks fantastic.
What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited for the upcoming release of Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night?
