Retro Gaming is alive and well
Crash Bandicoot is standing tall at the top of UK Sales Chart even after a few weeks. Yes, weeks. It released on June 30th guys, and it is already the 24th of June. Nearly a full month and Crash is still beating out the competition! That is an insane thing to consider if you take in the ‘market’ once considering Platformer games no longer a viable option anymore. Yet you’ve got Crash Bandicoot selling better than modern FPS games!
One game it managed to beat was Splatoon 2, which recently launched this weekend. Many people expected every Switch owner to grab the latest offering for the new console, and a lot of people did. Crash only beat Splatoon 2 by about 700 units. So the game has done well, but it’s interesting to think that a new game for a new console which is already lacking new games can get beaten out by a remaster of some PS1 classics.
Needless to say, the landscape is looking good for the future of Crash Bandicoot.
