SEGA 3D Classics Colleciton

Fantasy Zone Found within SEGA 3D Classics Collection

Over the past few years SEGA have been releasing 3D Remasters of their most memorable SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis games onto the Nintendo 3DS eShop and recently in America a collection of these games, known as the SEGA 3D Classics Collection, were made available as a retail cartridge for the Nintendo 3DS.

Unfortunately this collection has yet to receive a European release but those who managed to pick-up an american copy of the game soon discovered that a SEGA Master System version of Fantasy Zone was included on the cartridge alongside Maze Walker. In order to access this ‘hidden game’ players must navigate to the Extras Menu and then tap right (near the back to main menu button) to which a little enemy from Fantasy Zone will appear. By tapping on this character players are then given access to Fantasy Zone within the SEGA 3D Classics Collection.

Unlike the rest of the collection Fantasy Zone hasn’t undergone a 3D remake; but helpful hints and the FM/PSG Sound switch, are accessible within it. Once Fantasy Zone has been unlocked it will appear under the normal selection of games; so there is no need to visit the extras menu if you wish to play the game again.

It’s a nice feature, and one thats been carried over from the original Japanese version of this set; but unfortunately only those who own an American Nintendo 3DS system will be able to try it out for themselves.

You can play more SEGA Mega Drive games on the SEGA Mega Drive Wireless Console which features 100 built-in games and is available to order from
