Mega Man Legacy Collection for Nintendo 3DS to be a Digital Download Only in Europe

Last week Capcom revealed that the Mega Man Legacy Collection, which consists of six Mega Man games that were originally released onto the NES, will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS next year; however what they didn’t tell us is that the game will only be released as a Digital Download from the Nintendo 3DS eShop within Europe.

This may not seem like an issue; but considering that Japan and America will receive the game as both a digital download and a retail cartridge is surely going to disappoint some European fans who are wanting to own a physical version of this product. There is some good news to be had though; as Capcom have confirmed that Mega Man Legacy Collection will be priced competitively against the physical versions being released in Japan and America.

So what exactly is the Mega Man Legacy Collection? Well it’s a collection of the original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) games upscaled for the Nintendo 3DS platform. In addition to the six games players will have access to numerous challenge modes, an extensive museum gallery with hundreds of artwork and the ability to add more challenges through the inclusion of Amiibo support.

Mega Man Legacy Collection has previously been released onto the PC, XB1 and PS4 but from next year Mega Man fans will be able to access their favourite games on the Nintendo 3DS system.

You can play your original Mega Man cartridges on the Retron 5 and the Retron 3; both of which are available to order at www.funstockretro.co.uk. You can also save 5% on your order by using the code ‘NEWS5’.
