SEGA 3D Classics Collection Confirmed for European Release

SEGA have announced that the SEGA 3D Classics Collection, which consists of popular SEGA Mega Drive games remastered in 3D , will be released within Europe for the Nintendo 3DS as a retail cartridge later this year.

The news arrives in the form of a ‘Ask SEGA Anything’ segment on the SEGA Youtube Channel which saw SEGA Community Manager Dan Sheridan confirm the that the game would be getting released in Europe. Unfortunately however no specific release details have been announced at the moment but it will contain the exact same content as the American release earlier this year.

The SEGA 3D Classics Collection will contain ten games in total; one of which is unlocked when accessing the extras menu.

  • 3D Thunder Blade
  • 3D Power Drift
  • 3D Galaxy Force II
  • 3D Fantasy Zone II
  • 3D Puyo Puyo
  • 3D Altered Beast
  • 3D Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Maze Hunter 3-D
  • Fantasy Zone II
  • Fantasy Zone (Unlockable)

Each game in the SEGA 3D Classics Collection was previously released as a digital download onto the Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eShop and then, in America and Japan, the popular games were combined into a single collection and released as a cartridge into the retail market. Each game in the collection has not only been remastered with Stereoscopic 3D visuals but new tweaks and enhancements have been made; such as save-state options and cheat mechanics.

You can play SEGA Mega Drive games on the JXD, GPD XD and BLAZE TAB; all of which are available to order at
