Since its release onto the Nintendo Famicom in 1985 Super Mario Bros has proven itself to be a highly popular and enjoyable game for all ages; and while some may have difficulty beating all eight worlds within a single life some find joy in beating the game as quickly as possible.
The previous world record for beating Super Mario Bros in the fastest possible time, otherwise known as a Speedrun, was set at 4 minutes 57 seconds and 693 milliseconds was held by I_o_L; however a streamer by the name of Darbian has managed to beat this record by 433 milliseconds which means that Darbian is now the world record holder for the beating Super Mario Bros in the fastest possible time.
The new world record, which was a time of 4 minutes 57 seconds and 260 milliseconds ,was set on an original NES version of the game and was streamed live to his followers; all of which can be seen in the video below.
Do you think yo could beat the game in less than five minutes? personally i find it a struggle to beat the game in a single life but after seeing this video i will be sure to give it another go.
You can play Super Mario Bros on the BLAZE TAB, JXD and GPD XD; all of which are available to order at www.funstockretro.co.uk; alternatively if you own the original cartridge you can play it on the Retron 5.
