The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remade For Nintendo 64!

Everyone is aware of the Legend of Zelda Nintendo 64 games, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask is at the top of many lists for people when they think back to their favourite titles for the classic system. There are a group of people who actually claim to the fame of a Zelda title for the Gameboy, Link’s Awakening. To their credit, they are correct! It’s an unknown adventure for Link, but it’s actually really interesting. If they adapted the storyline, there would be characters from the game held in the same high regard as the Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask. Knowing this, a dedicated fan of the handheld title is currently working on recreating Link’s Awakening in the style of the classic N64 games!

The game is a full ROM hack of Ocarina of Time, and is called Link’s Awakening 64. The cool part is that it’s not a modification of Ocarina of Time and jumbled around in places. But rather a complete remake using the assets of Ocarina of Time, paying attention to the detail from the handheld game and recreating classic dungeons and villages. If you’ve played the classic Gameboy game, then you’ll notice right away the classic ships and challenge rooms made in a 3D space. It is honestly a wonder to behold and seems like a brand new Zelda gameplay experience from what the videos are showing.

At the moment, the game isn’t out for the general public to view just yet! The creator is posting updates and posts about the game online quite often, with each video it’s looking closer to completion. It’d be best to keep an eye on this project as you can be sure that once it releases in full, it’ll be making some waves. As a Zelda fan, you won’t want to miss out on this!
